On June 20, talks between President of the Senate of the National Assembly of Nigeria Dr. B.Saraki and Chairperson of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of Russia Ms.V.Matvienko were held in Moscow.

Pivotal issues on the table were the enhancement of the bilateral trade, economic ties and investments, furtherance of cooperation in the security sphere. The leader of the Nigerian Parliament addressed the Federation Council MPs with a speech, underlined commonality of approaches in Moscow and Abuja to the crucial issues of the international agenda.

During the visit, Dr. B.Saraki also took part in the wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin Wall and attended the match of the Nigerian national football team in Volgograd.
