Due to the holidays and days off in the Russian Federation on June 11-12, 2018, reception of applicants in the consular section will not be held.

Russia is ready to expand the traditionally friendly relations with African partners, both bilaterally and in various multilateral formats, and to continue its active participation in the programs of assistance for Africa under the auspices of the UN, G20, and BRICS.

On May 16 under participation of the Russian Embassy in Nigeria, the Honourable Minister of Education Mr Mallam Adamu Adamu received the International Affairs Adviser of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) Mr Masamba Kach.

On May 8, a solemn Victory Day reception was held at the Russian Embassy in Nigeria. Members of the diplomatic corps, Russian compatriots and graduates of Soviet/Russian universities were in attendance.

Russia would like to hope that common sense will prevail on the other side. Despite our different positions, we are jointly responsible for the future wellbeing of the entire human race and for the effective resolution of key issues facing the world today. In line with the national public holiday calendar of the Russian Federation for 2018, the consular section will be closed for receptions on April 30 – May 2 and May 9, 2018.

The United States advocates on paper for strict observance of international legal standards, including international agreements and other multilateral legally binding accords aimed at enhancing international security. The key role in this area is played by treaties and conventions on arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation, and relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council. The Foreign Ministry deems it necessary to again draw attention to these unacceptable US actions and to the indisputable facts that should facilitate an objective assessment of the real situation with said treaties and conventions and with the implementation of the relevant contractual commitments both by Russia and the United States.

Faced with mounting threats in the information space, civil society continues to look for the most effective ways to counter these challenges, using various forms of consolidated efforts by professionals. The non-governmental sector is ready to contribute to international information security and make the information space a secure environment. In line with this trend, the National Association of International Information Security was set up in Russia on April 10, 2018.

The US alongside its allies conducted a missile strike by its air and naval carriers targeting military and civil facilities of the Syrian Arab Republic on April 14 in the period from 3.42 am till 5.10 am (MSK). The Russian air defence systems at the Khmeimim and Tartus air base timely located and controlled all naval and air launches made by the USA and the UK.
