Ambassador’s greetings on Diplomatic Worker’s Day

Dear friends and colleagues,

Today, February 10th, marks Diplomat's Day in Russia. This Day reflects the significance of diplomatic efforts in maintaining peace, stability, and trust among nations and states. The contribution of Russian diplomatic service in this realm is invaluable. Russian diplomacy boasts an extensive and profound legacy, embodied in the endeavors and achievements of many of our colleagues throughout history. Always dedicated to their professional calling, Russian diplomats continue to proudly serve their homeland.

Diplomacy is not merely a profession; it is the art of building bridges between cultures, languages, and interests. It is the ability to find compromises, resolve complex international issues, and foster long-term relationships based on mutual respect and understanding.

Russian diplomats in Nigeria and their counterparts across the globe face a multitude of challenges, whether political tensions, economic hardships, or humanitarian crises. In the current stage, marked by evident professional degradation and a deliberate policy of brute force and sanctions from the collective West, the obstacles and hurdles in the path of constructive dialogue faced by Russian diplomacy have never been more numerous. However, despite all difficulties, our work remains committed to the pursuit of peace, justice, and cooperation, adhering to the principles of world order outlined in the UN Charter, which have served as a reliable foundation for the well-being of many generations. Now, perhaps more than ever, it is imperative for us to remain steadfast and resolute in advocating for these principles and the international legal decisions aimed at eliminating all legacies of Nazism and militarism, and at building a society free from colonial, nationalist, and racial thinking.

Celebrating our professional holiday, Diplomat's Day, provides us with an opportunity to appreciate the historical significance of diplomacy as a whole, not only Russian but also pan-African and global. Many significant challenges and conflicts have been resolved thanks to diplomatic efforts and negotiations.

On this occasion, I wish to extend special gratitude to our partners and friends in Nigeria. Our collaborative efforts contribute to the development of friendly and mutually beneficial relations between our countries, and I am deeply convinced that through our cooperation, we can overcome any obstacles on the path to peace and prosperity.

Therefore, on this day, I propose that we all once again proudly celebrate our collective work and achievements in the diplomatic sphere. May this Diplomat's Day serve as another reminder of our constant struggle for peace, justice, and cooperation. I wish you prosperity and the attainment of our common goals in the name of peaceful prosperity for all nations!
